1000 Days Since the Invasion: A Moment of Reflection and Solidarity

On the occasion of 1000 days since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the European Parliament Office in Greece, in collaboration with the Group of International and European Studies (ODETH), the Representation of the European Commission in Greece, ELIAMEP, and partners from Ukraine and Estonia, organized a joint European committee to reflect on where we stand today — and how the EU continues to support Ukraine.

The event highlighted the importance of sustained cooperation and international solidarity in addressing the human and political impact of the war.

A special video address was delivered by Vice-President of the European Parliament, Ewa Kopacz, who emphasized the urgency of protecting children who have been displaced or unlawfully detained in territories under Russian control.

“The European Parliament continues to work for their return, safety, and support. International cooperation and solidarity are the key to restoring these children’s hope for a peaceful future,” she stated.
