WHAT WE DO

At Ukrainian Women in Greece, we are committed to supporting women and families who were forced to leave Ukraine due to war. Our work is rooted in care, empowerment, and community. Through a wide range of programs, we aim to help displaced women regain stability, rebuild their lives, and feel connected and supported in their new environment.
Humanitarian Aid & Housing Support
We coordinate the reception, sorting, and delivery of humanitarian aid both locally and to Ukraine. Our housing assistance program connects families with safe shelters, facilitates relocation, and provides continuous support during their stay — including meals, psychological help, and childcare.
Empowerment Through Education & Employment
We offer Greek language courses, professional training (such as graphic and web design), and seminars on employment and entrepreneurship. These programs are designed to strengthen skills, boost confidence, and open new opportunities for economic independence.
Mental Health & Community Care
Psychological support is a core part of what we do. We run individual and group sessions for women, children, and volunteers — both in-person and online. Our Telegram channel offers 24/7 access to mental health resources in Ukrainian.
Cultural and Social Projects
Through festivals, workshops, art therapy, and creative clubs, we celebrate Ukrainian heritage while building bridges with Greek society. Our women’s club, “Girls’ Gatherings,” offers a space for healing, connection, and growth.
We believe in a future where displaced women feel safe, strong, and valued — and we work every day to make that future possible.

Humanitarian Aid Center – Vari
Our center in Vari operates as a vital hub for organizing and delivering humanitarian aid. We identify urgent needs both on the frontlines and in local communities and coordinate the collection, sorting, and transportation of essential supplies to Ukraine.
We work closely with individuals and organizations to receive and manage donations, sort them by category, and ensure fair and timely distribution to those in need — supporting over 1,800 people. Our dedicated team also handles procurement and financial oversight to ensure transparency and efficiency in every step.
Housing Assistance
We provide vital support to Ukrainian women and families in need of safe shelter. Our team coordinates both sides — those offering housing and those seeking it — by accepting applications, conducting interviews, and matching people with available accommodation.
We assist with every step of the resettlement process, including escorting families to their new homes, preparing agreements, and ensuring shelters are equipped to welcome migrants. Women and children are supported throughout their stay with meals, consultations, psychological care, and activities for children, creating a safe and supportive environment.
Employment & Skills Support
We help Ukrainian women take steps toward financial independence through tailored employment and entrepreneurship programs. Our center organizes seminars on job searching, CV writing, and workplace integration, offering practical tools to navigate the local job market.
For those interested in starting their own businesses or enhancing their professional skills, we offer entrepreneurship workshops and certified courses in graphic and web design — opening new opportunities for creative and sustainable careers.
Psychological Support
Mental and emotional well-being is at the heart of our work. We offer individual counseling and group support sessions for women, children, resettled families, and volunteers — both in person and online. These safe spaces help individuals process trauma, find strength, and rebuild confidence.
We also provide specialized support groups for mothers, psychological care for children, and consultations tailored to the unique needs of women. To ensure ongoing access, we’ve created a dedicated Telegram channel: Psychologists for Ukrainians in Greece (https://t.me/psychsupport), offering resources and guidance in Ukrainian, anytime it’s needed.
Women’s Club – “Girls’ Gatherings”
Our Women’s Club is a welcoming space where Ukrainian women come together to heal, grow, and connect. Through support groups and guided discussions, participants find emotional strength and a sense of belonging.
We offer a variety of enriching activities — from master classes and yoga to art, sound, and dance therapy, as well as singing and practicing the Ukrainian language. Each gathering combines psychological support, useful knowledge, and relaxation to support social adaptation and personal well-being.
Educational Programs
Education is key to empowerment and integration. We offer Greek language courses to help women and families navigate daily life and connect with the local community.
For younger participants, we provide creative learning opportunities like English through theater and a Soft Skills School for teenagers, focusing on communication, teamwork, and confidence-building. Adults can also benefit from professional training in graphic and web design, opening doors to new career paths and digital literacy.
Cultural & Educational Projects
Through creative and educational initiatives, we promote dialogue, reflection, and community engagement. We organize actions, peaceful rallies, and marches to raise awareness and strengthen solidarity.
Our cultural programs include the “Letter” reading club, “Reality through Theater” workshops, and “25 Frames” film screenings — all designed to encourage expression, preserve identity, and build cultural bridges between Ukrainians and the local community.
Cultural & Entertainment Projects
We celebrate Ukrainian heritage and creativity through hands-on experiences and vibrant cultural events. Our workshops and clubs include doll making, Petrykivka painting, trench art candle making, dance, and yoga, offering participants both relaxation and cultural connection.
We proudly organize large-scale events such as the “Cossack Art Athens” festival, Embroidery Day, the “Born in Embroidery” action, and the “Olbia – Philanthropic Bazàr” exhibition and fair. Music also plays a vital role in our community, with regular concerts that bring people together in joy, remembrance, and unity.
